Replacing a boiler

Arrived on site to repair a toilet after two previous engineers attended the site but could not complete works due to insufficient access to a concealed cistern for the toilet. The solution to the customers problem was to replace the syphon - which rectified the fault. The customer was very impressed with my work and efficiency. We were then instructed by the customer to conduct a general check on her existing boiler because she was concerned of her very high gas bills. The existing boiler was an Potterton Netaheat, around 17 years old.Through further investigation we were shocked to find that the hot water cylinder had been partitioned in behind a tiled wall. This partitioned tiled wall had no access panels and there was no way of carrying out maintenance. We Advised the customer to remove this and replace the system with a combination boiler. Initial checks were made on water mains pressure and flow rates etc. to make sure this system was suitable. The customer was very pleased with our recommendations and was informed that system would be more efficient and energy bills will be decreased. We were then instructed by the customer to carry out this project.

*Removed tanks from roof space *Accessed Hot Water Cylinder and removed *Replaced existing boiler with Ideal Logic +30 kw condensing combination boiler *Installed thermostatic radiator valves on radiators *Upgraded heating controls with wireless roomstat *Poweflushed heating system, drained and dosed with inhibitor to protect boiler . *Commissioned boiler and checked for correct operation.
